Appoint Patrick C. Gorman to the Napa County Mosquito Abatement District Board for a two-year term beginning immediately and ending December 31, 2026.

COMPOSITION AND PURPOSE OF THE COMMISSION
The Napa County Mosquito Abatement District Board is the Governing Body of the Mosquito Abatement District which provides mosquito/vector control services for the County of Napa. The Board members represent all of the citizens that reside within the area served by the District and may or may not be mosquito and vector control experts.
Membership: Six members; one of whom represents the City of Napa. The City Council of the City of Napa appoints one member to the Board of Trustees to serve as the City’s representative. All other members represent the other governmental jurisdictions in the County of Napa in addition to one member representing the County at-large. Terms are for a period of two years.
RECRUITMENT PROCESS
The City Clerk accepted applications for the Board from November 18, 2024 through December 6, 2024. Recruitment announcements were shared on the City’s website and social media platforms, published in the City’s electronic newsletter “Napa News Weekly”, posted at various locations at City Hall, Human Resources, and the Community Services building, and sent to the Napa County Library, Napa Valley College, Napa Chamber of Commerce, Napa Valley Unified School District, Napa County Board of Supervisors, Napa County Administration, Napa County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Napa Valley Community Housing, Puertas Abiertas Community Resource Center, and Leadership Napa Valley.
APPLICATIONS RECEIVED
One application was received from Patrick C. Gorman.
Patrick C. Gorman is the incumbent applying to be appointed to a new term. He was first appointed to the Board by the City Council on April 18, 2023. Copy of the application has been provided as Attachment 1 for reference.
