Fire Portable Radio Equipment Replacement

Recommendation
Authorize the Assistant City Manager to issue a purchase order in an amount not-to-exceed $300,000 with Motorola Solutions for the purchase of portable radios and ancillary items for use in the Napa Fire department.

DISCUSSION:
This purchase will add 20 additional Motorola APX8000 portable radios, for a total of 57, and will provide all Fire operations staff with the same multi-band portable radio. This expense has been anticipated and planned for and is budgeted in the Equipment Replacement Reserve.
FINANCIAL IMPACTS:
The adopted FY 2023/24 budget included a budget of $320,000 in the Equipment Replacement Reserve in anticipation of this expense. No additional budget is required at this time, and this expense will not impact the current year General Fund.
CEQA:
The Assistant City Manager has determined that the Recommend Action described in this agenda is not subject to CEQA, pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15060(c).
