Recommendation

 

Re-appoint incumbent Molly A. Adams, as a City of Napa Representative to the Napa County Library Commission for a term beginning immediately and ending on January 31, 2029.

DISCUSSION:

COMPOSITION AND PURPOSE OF THE COMMISSION:

The Napa County Library Commission is an advisory commission to the Napa County Board of Supervisors. The Commission reports on matters concerning the Library and serves as a community advocate on behalf of the Library.

 

Requirements: The Napa Valley Library Commission is made up of eight members appointed as follows: two appointed by the City of Napa City Council; three appointed by the County Board of Supervisors; one appointed by the Calistoga City Council; one appointed by the American Canyon City Council; and one appointed by the Yountville Town Council.

 

Membership: Applicants must be City of Napa residents and registered voters. Members will serve three-year terms.

 

Meetings: The Commission meets on the first Thursday of every other month.

 

NUMBER AND TIMING OF VACANCIES INCLUDING SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

There is a total of one seat to be filled due to term expiration of Molly A. Adams.

 

RECRUITMENT PROCESS

The City Clerk accepted applications for the Committee from November 4, 2025, through December 5, 2025. Recruitment announcements were shared on the City’s website and social media platforms, published in the City’s electronic newsletter “Napa News Weekly”, posted at various locations at City Hall, Human Resources, and the Community Services building, and sent to the Napa County Library, Napa Valley College, Napa Chamber of Commerce, Napa Valley Unified School District, Napa County Board of Supervisors, Napa County Administration, Napa County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Napa Valley Community Housing, Puertas Abiertas Community Resource Center, Leadership Napa Valley, and Neo Gov.

 

APPLICATIONS RECEIVED

One application was received from Molly A. Adams who is applying for her second term.

None.

The City Clerk has determined that the recommended action in this agenda report is not subject to CEQA, pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15060(C).
