Receive a brief report from staff and discuss issues of importance to the Planning Commission and City Council.

DISCUSSION:
The Planning Commission is advisory to the City Council on matters related to land use and planning, particularly related to amendments to the City's General Plan policies and Zoning Ordinance. The Planning Commission is the decision-making body for specified land use actions, including conditional use permits and design review permits.
The City Council and Planning Commission periodically meet in a joint session to review issues of importance, set goals, and to generally keep the lines of communication open regarding the expectations and needs to effectively complete the Commission’s responsibilities.
This joint session was convened by staff as an annual joint meeting. Staff will provide a presentation focused on the Downtown and Oxbow areas.
