Recommendation

Adopt a resolution acknowledging receipt of the 2025 Annual Fire Inspection Compliance Report prepared pursuant to California Health and Safety Code Sections 13146.2 - 13146.4.

Body

DISCUSSION:

California state law requires that every fire department and district in the state conduct annual safety inspections of all public and private schools, apartments, lodging houses, hotels, and motels within their jurisdictions. Every fire department is required to submit a report of these inspections to its “administering authority” (which, for the City, is the City Council), pursuant to California Health and Safety Code Section 13146.4 (SB 1205; Chapter 854, Statutes of 2018, effective January 2019).

In 2025 Fire Prevention Staff completed all the state mandated inspections. Attached is the 2025 Inspection Compliance Report.

FINANCIAL IMPACTS:

No direct financial impacts.

CEQA:

The Fire Chief has determined that the Recommended Action described in this Staff Report is not subject to CEQA pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15060.
