Body

DISCUSSION:

This proclamation is requested by the Napa Police Department in recognition of the National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week (NPSTW), held annually during the second week of April to honor telecommunications personnel for their commitment, service, and sacrifice. NPSTW was started in 1981 by Patricia Anderson of the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office in California.  President William J. Clinton signed in 1994, the Presidential Proclamation declaring the second week of April as NPSTW. During this week and month is the time to celebrate and thank telecommunications personnel across the Nation who service our communities, citizens, and public safety.

Gus Ulloth, 9-1-1 Communications Manager, Chief of Police Jennifer Gonzales, and members of the Napa Central Dispatch Center will be present to accept the proclamation.

This proclamation complies with the Ceremonial Document Policy (Resolution R2023-101), adopted by Council on October 3, 2023.
