Receive a report on homeless services.

DISCUSSION:
The City Council receives a quarterly report from the Assistant to the City Manager on the progress made on efforts that began in April 2021 to work on coordinating homeless services actions and strategies.
Today’s report will provide the City Council with an update on homeless services since October 2021 and include a summary of recent opportunities to address issues caused by homeless encampments or other unsheltered homelessness.
Staff will also provide an update on the implementation of CalAIM (California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal) and other programmatic changes due to December 31, 2021 end of the Whole Person Care program.
Finally, staff will share updates on recent funding applications and provide a summary of the Governor’s Proposed Budget as it pertains to programs that serve clients experiencing or exiting from homelessness.

This agenda item is informational and does not result in a financial impact without future council discussion or actions.

The City Manager has determined that the Recommended Action described in this Agenda Report is not subject to CEQA, pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15060(c).
