Appoint a member of City Council to serve as an Alternate Member on the Napa Valley Transportation Authority Board of Directors, and the Napa Valley Transportation Authority - Tax Agency Board.

DISCUSSION:
The City of Napa participates in a variety of local, regional, and state Boards, Councils, Commissions and Committees that serve the City and provides representation of the City's interest.

Each year, the City Council reviews the appointment of its members to various local, regional, and state boards, councils, committees, and commissions on which members of Council serve. On December 18, 2018 Council appointed Mayor Techel and Councilmember Alessio to serve as the City of Napa voting Members on the Napa Valley Transportation Authority Board and the Napa Valley Transportation Authority - Tax Authority Board, with Councilmember Gentry appointed as the alternate Member.

The thirteen-member NVTA Board consist of the Mayor and one Councilmember from each of Napa County's five incorporated jurisdictions, two members of the Napa County Board of Supervisors; and one ex-officio representative from the Paratransit Coordinating Council.

The twelve-member NVTA-TA Board consists of the two members of the City Council appointed to NVTA from each of Napa County's five incorporated jurisdictions, and the two members of the Napa County Board of Supervisors appointed to the NVTA.
