RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Recommendation

Adopt a resolution establishing the 2020 City Council Calendar, and approving the cancellation of regular meetings of the City Council on January 7, 2020, July 7, 2020, and November 4, 2020.

Body
DISCUSSION:
To plan for the 2020 calendar year meeting dates, it is helpful to have a City Council meeting calendar with approved necessary or recommended meeting cancellations.

City Charter Section 60 and Napa Municipal Code Section 2.04.050 state regular meetings of the City Council are set for the first and third Tuesday of every month, unless modified by resolution of City Council. Staff has prepared a resolution for Council approval to cancel the regular meetings of City Council that were previously set for January 7, 2020, July 7, 2020, and November 4, 2020. Please note that the regular meeting initially set for Tuesday, November 3, 2020 falls on the same day as the General Municipal Election, therefore, such regular meeting shall be held on the next business day which would land on Wednesday, November 4, 2020.

The attached resolution cancels the meetings of January 7, 2020, July 7, 2020 and November 4, 2020, and establishes the next regular meetings for January 21, 2020, July 21, 2020, and November 17, 2020. The attached resolution also identifies Holidays observed by Council, and the date of the General Municipal Election.

Staff requests adoption of the resolution, to implement the 2020 City Council Calendar as presented, or direction to staff as to the City Council's desired revisions.

FINANCIAL IMPACTS:
None.
